Machines Galore

Exercise / Full Body Workout

While machines at the gym can be helpful for weight loss, it’s important to remember that losing weight primarily involves creating a calorie deficit through a combination of diet and exercise. Here’s a workout routine using machines that can help you burn calories and contribute to weight loss:

  1. Treadmill or Elliptical Machine:
    • Start your workout with a 5-10 minute warm-up on the treadmill or elliptical machine to get your heart rate up and your muscles warmed up.
    • Set the machine to a moderate intensity level and aim to maintain a steady pace throughout your warm-up.
  2. Stationary Bike:
    • After your warm-up, move to the stationary bike for a cardio interval workout.
    • Alternate between periods of high-intensity pedaling (1-2 minutes) and low-intensity recovery (1-2 minutes) for a total of 20-30 minutes.
    • Adjust the resistance level on the bike to increase the intensity during high-intensity intervals.
  3. Rowing Machine:
    • Incorporate the rowing machine into your workout to engage multiple muscle groups and burn calories.
    • Row at a moderate intensity for 10-15 minutes, focusing on proper form and using both your arms and legs to propel the movement.
  4. Circuit Training with Weight Machines:
    • Set up a circuit using weight machines that target different muscle groups, such as chest press, leg press, lat pulldown, shoulder press, and leg curl.
    • Perform 10-15 repetitions on each machine with minimal rest between exercises.
    • Complete 2-3 circuits, resting for 1-2 minutes between each circuit.
    • Choose a weight that allows you to complete the desired number of repetitions with proper form while still challenging your muscles.
  5. Cool Down:
    • Finish your workout with a 5-10 minute cool-down on the treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike at a low intensity to gradually bring your heart rate down and help your muscles recover.
